Terms of
Service
Draft, pending legal review
Last updated: October 14, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Homicide Unit (homicideunit.com) when you use the site. By creating an account or buying a case, you agree to them. Questions: support@homicideunit.com.
Your account
- You need to be at least 13 to make an account. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
- Give us a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Your username appears publicly on leaderboards. Don't pick one that is offensive, impersonates someone or includes personal information. We may hide or remove usernames that break this rule.
Purchases
- Cases are one-time purchases. Prices are in US dollars and are shown before you pay. Payment is handled by Stripe.
- Buying a case gives you a personal, non-transferable right to play it on your account. It doesn't give you ownership of the case or the right to copy, share or resell it.
- Pre-orders, such as The Walk Home, are paid now and unlock on your account on launch day. If we can't release a pre-ordered case, we'll refund you in full.
- Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
- Free cases and offers can change or end at any time.
Playing fair
Don't cheat the leaderboards, use bots or scripts, try to get into other players' accounts, interfere with the site, or copy and republish our cases. We may remove scores, or suspend or close accounts, that break these rules.
Our content
The cases, writing, art, video and software on Homicide Unit belong to us or our licensors. Every case is fictional. Any resemblance to real people or events is coincidental.
Help chat
Sgt. Ronpuski's website help is automated and can make mistakes. If something he says conflicts with these terms or our policies, the terms and policies win.
Changes to the site
We're always working on Homicide Unit, so features may change. We'll try to give notice of big changes. If we ever close a case you paid for, we'll give you a reasonable way to keep playing it or a refund.
Disclaimers and limits
We provide the site "as is." We work hard to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
Closing your account
You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing support. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll tell you by email or on the site. Continuing to use Homicide Unit after a change means you accept the new terms.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and of the United States, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
Privacy
How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
